Precision Test pressure (calibration) gauges
What we offer?
Budenberg offers high quality and high stability Pressure Calibration gauges in three dial sizes with three accuracy options 0.25%, 0.2% and 0.15% of fsd. Digital test gauges are available up to 0.05% accuracy.
All Standard and Master Test gauges are supplied with detailed calibration certificate.
Budenberg Precision ( Standard / Master / Super ) Test Gauges are undoubtedly recognized as a world leader for its accuracy, reliability and of course, Budenberg quality.
Application
Budenberg Calibration Test Gauges can be used for a number of applications including:
- Calibration of pressure gauges, switches, transducers and transmitters.
- Calibration of pneumatic controllers, transmitters, valves etc.
- Measurement of pressure on test beds (aero-engines, fuel systems for gas turbines, diesel engine injection systems, hydraulic rigs, fuelling systems etc.)
- Hydraulic tests of pipework or pressure vessels (in factory or on site)
- Setting of relief valves
- Measurement of pore water pressure in soil mechanics laboratories.
- Efficiency testing of steam turbines and compressors on pipelines etc.
Oil Free Test Gauge Option
Oil-free Test Gauges are available, the tube and blocks are vaporized and de-greased before assembly and the strictest precautions are taken to see that no oil enters the tube during manufacturing. Such gauges are dial marked “Use No Oil”.
Common Specifications
Budenberg Test Gauges offers high reliability, Quality and stability. These gauges incorporate high accuracy with up to a maximum of 500 graduations where possible, along with a knife-edged pointer and an anti-parallax mirror to help reduce chance of human error. The Standard Test Gauge is an obvious choice where accuracy is paramount.
The gauge is also dust and splash proof to IP54 standards. Recalibration is simplified with the inclusion of a standard micrometer adjustable pointer as standard.
Calibration
The Standard Test Gauge meets the full requirements of EN837 and all units are supplied with a detailed (point-by-point) calibration certificate traceable to National Standards. All units are individually calibrated to suit the test medium being used i.e. Gas or Liquid. It is important therefore to specify the medium at the time of order.
Pressure Medium
If a gauge is calibrated on air and subsequently used on liquid, the weight of the liquid in the tube will weigh down the end of the tube and can cause an accuracy error. This effect is significant with graduations up to and including 16 bar (250 lb/in²) and so we must be advised on any order whether the gauges are to be used on liquid or air; the dials of the gauge will be marked accordingly.
Gauges with vacuum scale or with compound scale (pressure and vacuum) are calibrated on air. Gauges with graduations above 16 bar (250 lb/in²) are usually calibrated on oil. Gauges graduated above 16 bar and not exceeding 40 bar (250 and 600 lb/in²) can be tested on air at customers’ request.

Scale Division / Least Count
The calculation is given below in the tabular form.
How to Calculate Scale Division or least count
STEP 1 – Select Value in the Range Row against the Column A to I which should be a multiplication factor of 1 , 10, 100, 1000 of required Range.
STEP 2 – Multiply the Range value by 1 or 10 or 100 or 1000 to arrive at the required range.
STEP 3 – Choose Dial Size and its Dial Divisions under the earlier selected Column.
STEP 4 – Divide Range by No. of Dial Divisions.
STEP 5 – The Value found is scale division or least count.
The above ranges are standard. For non-standard ranges please consult us.
